Apple enters the foldable market with the iPhone Duo, featuring a 7.6-inch folding display, vapor-cooled A20 Pro silicon, and iOS 27.
A New Form Factor and Versatile Displays
The iPhone Duo debuts as Apple's first foldable device, introducing an expansive 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR inner screen alongside a 5.4-inch outer cover display. Both panels provide up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness with 120Hz ProMotion support, while the internal screen incorporates a glare-reducing nano-texture finish and a hidden under-display camera. Designed for flexible use, the hardware accommodates multiple configurations, including side-by-side Split View multitasking, seated angles for viewing, and hands-free video calls.
Durable Grade 5 Titanium Build
Built for longevity, the foldable combines a Grade 5 titanium chassis and hinge cover with Ceramic Shield glass protecting the exterior surfaces. The folding inner panel uses 10 ultrathin layers and optically clear adhesives engineered to glide smoothly, minimizing display creasing over time. The entire assembly meets IP68 standards for water and dust resistance, enduring submersion up to 6 meters for 30 minutes.
A20 Pro Performance and Dual-Battery Power
Under the hood, Apple has fitted a vapor-cooled A20 Pro processor containing a 6-core CPU, 7-core GPU, and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine designed for intensive artificial intelligence tasks. Power delivery relies on an iPhone-first dual-battery architecture teamed with a high-efficiency C2 modem, delivering up to 31 hours of video playback on the main screen and 44 hours on the outer screen. Fast wired charging can replenish roughly 50 percent of the battery within 20 minutes, alongside standard MagSafe support.
Dual Fusion Cameras and Unique Dual-Screen Tools
Rear photography is driven by a 48MP Dual Fusion array featuring a 48MP main sensor and a 48MP ultra-wide camera with 2x optical-quality zoom and 4K 120 fps video capture. Leveraging both screens, the phone introduces Duo Preview for real-time subject framing on the cover display and Kid Cue animations to attract attention. Selfies and video calls are handled by an exterior 12MP Center Stage camera in tandem with the interior under-display sensor.
iOS 27 and Siri AI Integration
Operating on iOS 27, the handset introduces tailored software experiences such as cross-app drag and drop and upcoming compatibility with Apple Pencil over USB-C. Apple Intelligence and Siri AI power on-device features, including conversational assistance, automated image editing tools, and contextual app actions. Device security is managed through Touch ID embedded into the side button, and network connectivity is exclusively handled via eSIM.
